Mission
TMCC is one of Nevada’s designated Bee Campus USA institutions, integrating pollinator habitat and education into campus grounds, classroom curriculum, and student programming.
Problem they address
Most college campuses are large landscaped properties optimized for ornamentals, not pollinators. Without intentional design, those acres are dead zones for native bees, butterflies, and the food crops they support.
How they contribute
TMCC maintains pollinator habitat on campus, trains students through horticulture and biology courses, and connects classroom learning to hands-on conservation work. The Bee Campus designation requires annual reporting and a campus-led pollinator committee.
