Mission
UNLV conducts research and teaches across food systems, water resources, climate science, sustainability, and public health, with programs that connect academic work to community-scale needs in Southern Nevada.
Problem they address
Southern Nevada faces compounding pressures on water, food access, public health, and climate. Decision-makers and community organizations need rigorous, locally grounded research to act.
How they contribute
UNLV faculty and centers publish peer-reviewed work on Lake Mead and the Colorado River, urban heat, food access, native plant systems, and pollinator health. The Division of Research, the Greenspun College of Urban Affairs, and the School of Public Health are among the units most relevant to the topics this site covers: food access, pollinators, water, and policy.
